the grammys are for lovers.

i am in the best stinking mood!!! zac brown band won for best new artist!!!! heck yeah!!!! they are just out of control talented and seriously the nicest group of guys. plus, they have really amazing wives ;) congrats guys!!! now, on to the fashion.
1/ i'm in freaking love. this elie saab is just wonderful! the perfect grammy dress, a little weird and a lot beautiful. i love everything about it!!! the neckline is a bit crazy, but that back is just unreal! i love the gathering at the hips and the skirt is just wonderful. rihanna is my hero.
2/ Call me crazy, but i loved this givenchy ensemble!!! ciara is rocking this for serious. it's strange and dangerous, and i think that it was perfect for the grammys. the slicked back hair and barely there makeup is just stunning and the perfect balance to this wild outfit! i love it. mock me if you must. i'm right.
3/ once again, you can make fun of me, but i love this herve leger! it's so rock star...not that miley cyrus is a rock star, but this outfit is so cute. the dress is edgy, the shoes are sexy, the pile of necklaces are perfect. sure, the extensions are a bit much, but the sex hair and makeup are just wonderful. she looks young and fresh, i like it.
4/ this is how you do simple. you make it freaking hot!!! sure the dress is just a white tube dress, but check out the details. the rouching along the hip, the burgundy pumps, the giant cocktail ring, and statement necklace!!! finished out with amazing bed head and some sex kitten makeup, you are set!!! so hot!!! i think i have a girl crush on her...bo looooooves her!
5/ victoria beckham is on fire! she really knows how to dress a woman's body! and what i love is that it's women of all sizes. jennifer nettles here is like a negative size, but my lord she looks amazing. the hair is a little crazy, but this gown is just perfection. i love the cutouts and the black accents, girl looks hot!!!! i want to wear this right now...to blog.

the grammys, dreadfully boring.

the grammys is no place for playing it safe and these ladies are certianly not making any waves...
yawn. i just want you to know, i don't like her. she seems sweet and it's very nice that she writes her own music, but i find her music positively mind-numbing. watching her perform is one of the most uncomfortable things imaginable. i just don't get it. but alas, here she is. as always, i'm happy the hair is up, cause when it's down she looks like a shocked poodle. the makeup is nice, the earring are beautiful, but this kaufman franco gown doesn't work for me. it ages her soooo much. the shape and the color are just suited for someone older. plus, i hate the neckline. the back was interesting, but i'm just gonna go with no.
good ole nicole kidman, she looks okay. her face seems to be calming down a bit. i like her little retro up do. i bet this gown looked nice in person because she definitely looks tall and skinny, but in photos it's kinda boring. this is just kinda boring.
who styles carrie underwood? sometimes she looks great, but others she looks not great. this edition by georges chakra isn't great. the neckline is really kinda fun, but the skirt from  the waist down is just so blah. i really hate chiffon...the accessories are nice, so is her makeup, but that hair is just terrible.
fergie, ferg. i think this is pretty great, her hair and makeup are rocking hot! this dress isn't new and exciting, but it does look really good on mrs. duhamel. the shoes are super sexy. not bad.
this look was soooo close to being one of my favorites, but i just can't get over the sheer black tights. jennifer hudson's body looks sick in this victoria beckham collection dress. i mean, this is stunning. and the pumps fabulous. i just see those tights and i think 1994. she looks smoking hot though. amazing.
it's official kristen bell can't dress. this is another example of her lack of fashion sense. i mean, she looks short and shapeless. the hair and makeup are kinda va-va-va-voom, but starting at the neckline and ending with the way too long hem, this dress is bad. on a happy note, congrats apparently she is engaged to dax shepard.
GLLLEEEE. lea michelle got an invite to the grammys and looked beautiful. the hair and makeup are sexy, but the dress just doesn't do it for me. it's ramona kevaza and it's a total boring rip-off of a fabulous marchesa gown that diane kruger wore back in april. not bad.
now sheryl crow can do whatever the heck she wants, but this is bottega veneta is pretty dull, the giant gold earrings are perfection and the bracelets and ring are just amazing. it's just a lot of brown fabric, her arms are out of control.
mary j. blige is having the opposite problem as sheryl crow...this gown is waaay to tight. the color is lovely on her, but this gown just shows everything. it is not flattering in the least!!! oh, and her jewels are just soooo tacky. no thank you.

the grammys, beige out.

so apparently nude is the new thing. and it's not rocking my socks. here are some of the ladies who need a bit of color.
oh dear, i didn't like the zac posen on the runway and i don't like it on katy perry. it's just so goofy and ill fitting. her boobs look crazy saggy and this just doesn't do anything for her. plus, the silly tiny bangs and the bindi are so gwen stefani 10 years ago. no ma'am.
beyonce needs to realize that this silhouette DOES NOT look good on her. she wears this shape too much and it makes a hot lady, look wide. and personally, the color of this stephane rolland does nothing for me. the hair and makeup is off the mark too. that makeup may work on the runway, but not so much here. and what's in her hair? oh no.
miss seal. looking pretty fabulous, can you believe she just had a kid a few months ago? the dress is a bit 70's gogo dancer to me, so not so great, but hair, makeup, and shoes are amazing. her boobs are out of control.
bore, bore, bore. so, after the grammys colbie caillat is running over to the ms. america pagent. this is heinous. she's such a cute girl too, this just seems to far from her personality...it's so done and she seems so chill and relaxed...ain't nothing relaxed about this.
i didn't know ashanti still made music. well, she still knows how to wear an ugly dress. this actually has potential i think the bodice is stunning, the mixture of beads and studs is really interesting, but the break above the knee and the luminescent chiffon cascading down is just soooo cheesy. i don't mind the little cap sleeve, but the bottom just ruins it. her hair is a bit a shellacked for my taste, but the make up is pretty.
this chick is hooooot! i have know idea what she sings, but i do know that zac and the guys beat her for an award and i'm super happy about that. but she is beautiful. the dress isn't wildly interesting, but keri hilson looks beautiful. it fits her perfectly and looks great with her skin. not bad. she'll get better.

the grammys, as crazy as ever!

it wouldn't be the grammys without a bunch of freaking crazy...and oh yes, there was some freaking crazy. but as this is the grammys, this sort of ridiculous behavior is acceptable...i'm still going to be mean.
oh dear, it's lady gaga...doing what she does best, scaring the shit of people. she's like a clown, she's supposed to be fun and entertaining, but really she's just terrifying. bo thinks it looks like the fortress of solitude. hahaha. this gown believe it or not was created by armani prive, which is really something, that she is getting super designers to make clothes for her. the worst part is that her who-ha is just like peeking out from the rings...soooo bad. maybe this wouldn't be as awful if she didn't have the pastel pink lips, pee yellow hair, and insane eye makeup. oh yikes, yes it would be just as bad.
well, hmmm, okay. britney spears looks okay. the hair and makeup are a billion times better than normal, but this d&g dress makes me sorta sad...i feel like we are taking a giant step back. i mean her body looks great, but the crotch and tummy panel of this dress just look awful and the sheer black tights, wtf!?! so icky!!! i wish i had a better angle to see if this was decent from any side...no, no.
this girl needs to stop. like really stop. stop singing. stop going out in public. stop purchasing glitter. stop smoking, whatever various drugs that make your eyes look like that. this is just so much nasty. with the big knockers this dress just looks slutty. she is just the definition of hot damn mess. oh, this is kesha, i refuse to type a $ in her name. yikes, this is what is happening to music. it's dying slowly.
malin akerman is generally pretty cute, but this is just a tacky mess of tacky. i mean those boots are terrible. and who ever told her it would be a good idea to wear them with this tin foil dress should be fired. no, shot.
pink, my darling pink. now, this isn't that bad for pink, but it's just kinda much. the glitter, the scallops, the pseudo-crumb catcher, the ombre. i think she looks fantastic, this just doesn't completely do it for me.  but again, for pink this is pretty great.
oh dear. someone needs to inform j.lo that she isn't 20 anymore. this versace isn't even flattering to her rocking body. plus, that monster hair and the crazy smoking eye is just not doing it for me. the best part are the bracelets.
whatcha sayyyyy, i say this looks like a pile of nasty. like you must be insane, imogen heap. right? normal people don't leave the house going to the grammys carrying a parasol, a lucite purse, granny's dress, and whatever the crap is around her neck? rounds? a belt? ugly? yes.

weighing in on rachel zoe...

i hate that this is an issue, but my husband and i totally just had a heated debate over whether rachel zoe's credibility as a stylist is compromised by how shockingly thin she looks. i think that she is a genius and brilliant at what she does, i want so badly to shop her closet! i mean, what would i say when i like things? bananas and i die are my staples!
my hubby says, essentially, that she is what's wrong with fashion and she is supposed to be selling pretty and that skeletal isn't pretty. i believe that just because she seems to have some sort of problem, it in no way makes her any less of a artist. needless to say, i'm right, but i can't believe that no-one close to her sees a problem because she is too thin and you all know how much i love a super skinny model/actress! I mean she denies it like crazy, but at some point she is going to have to be honest. the fashion world has long been filled with too thin ladies, but i truly believe that many people are built that thin, but when I see her concave chest, it just makes me sad, that's not normal for anyone, no matter how "naturally" thin.
so, what do you think about madam zoe? are you as in love with her as me? or do you find her overrated? is she too skinny? or are people making a big deal out of nothing? happy debating.

on a pleasant note for fans of her show, bitchy mcbitch taylor jacobson has gone on to pursue other things!!! thank the dear lord above! i couldn't take anymore of her ungrateful, hostile attitude and blinding, brittle hair. hallelujah.

animal-free fashion is freaking hot!!!!

i just wanted to share some beautiful things!!! i'm having a stella mccartney moment. i adore that she is a vegan and is able to make beautiful clothes animal/cruelty free...but unfortunately, i'm not ready to give up my leather bags, baby steps. and just because this is my blog and i get to talk about whatever i want, i just want to let you all know that my vegan diet has been going wonderfully! i am a month in and am truly loving it. in fact, just today at our co-op grocery story one of the employees told me that i had a lovely heathy glow. sweet!! what a complement!?! i have been eating non-stop and just feel good, like i am doing something wonderful for my body and the world by eating cupcakes, curries, pasta, and veggies. sounds good to me!!! let me know if you have any questions? even going vegan for just two or three days of the week can really help you detox your body and believe it or not help you lose weight, clear your skin, and just make you feel lighter! i have some great recipes, all you gotta do is ask!

oh, and watch alicia silverstone of oprah today, the whole episode is about what we eat! good stuff!!!

yes, i really went out...

the inspiration:

what i wore:

now, i actually got dressed without this outfit in mind, but once i got it on i remembered jessica stroup's cute ensemble. so see, fashion makes it's way into our brain! when you really eat and breathe it, it becomes so much easier. my outfit is a pretty direct translation, i didn't have a sparkly skirt, but i did have a super tight grey thing...i also wanted to wear sandals, it's been to long! i am rocking a banana blazer and organic tee, a totally 80's bandage skirt, and my favorite steve madden, dior knockoffs. i piled on a few cute delicate necklaces and viola. all the boys in yard totally wanted my milkshake...huh? look at that booty! so what do you think, would you were this? does my butt look big? in a good way?

the sag awards: a-listers.

it's no contest! diane kruger is hands down the best dressed! oh my lord!!! it's perfect! she is rocking this jason wu!!!! the color of the gown is stunning and the dark red accents in the earring and lips are ah-mazing!!! wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! look at all of the exclamation points!!! i'm in love.
#2/ so here is a perfect example of dressing young and fresh on the red carpet! lea michelle looks amazing! this catherine malandrino gown is so perfect. this green is stunning on her olive skin. the neckline, the cinched waist, and the gathering in the skirt is perfect. i love the ruffles around the sleeve. so fabulous.
#3/ Marion Cotillard in elie saab is rocking my socks. it's stunning. it's ivory, which can very often equal boring, but not this dress. she wears it amazingly and those shoes!!! hell yeah! i love the hair and makeup. i just can't find anything wrong with this. do you see that emerald ring? fabulous.
i am loving this dress. sandy looks soooo tall and skinny!! my two favorite things to be! this gown is alexander mcqueen and it's fierce, i love the neckline! i die. love it. the hair and makeup are just stunning, possibly the best of the night. so simple and so glamourous.
i wasn't sure about this one. i do know that this is the best kate hudson's hair and makeup has looked in forever. it's so sexy. this gown is reminiscent of hilary swank's oscar gown, but she just looks so good. i love the necklace hanging in the back! i can't find anything wrong with the execution of this look. and that butt is rocking!
yay, another one of my red carpet picks on my darling, nicole kidman. i picked this oscar de la renta for january jones, but nicole looks amazing! i love all of the necklaces and bracelets. and her hair looks sooooo good! almost back to normal nic. this is the best she has looked in quite sometime. stunning.

the sag awards: so very close...

so these ladies are here because one of two reasons: one, they have worn this look before or two, something is just ever so slightly off that keeps the look from being flawless. but to be fair, i think most of these gowns are pretty fabulous.
i love this gown! this monique lhuillier was originally a wedding dress, but in this shade of blue it's perfection. it fits drew like a glove. love, love, love. now this would be in my best dressed if someone would have advised ms. barrymore to wear some damn lipstick! what's wrong with her mouth? it looks like she is suffering from hypothermia. i even love the crazy hair, but i cannot get over the foundation colored lips.
i never seem to love or hate what kyra sedgwick wears, it always just seems okay. she looks very nice in this white vera wang, but when i see it i can't seem to separate it from any of the other gowns she's worn. they all kind of blend...strapless, column dresses, with a little flare in the skirt... so she looks great, but this dress...been there, done that.
now, penelope cruz has kind of let me down lately on the red carpet...this l'wren scoot dress is beautiful, but just looks like something she has worn a million times. she is usually such a fashionista that it bums me to see her repeat a look. i mean, seriously, her hair and makeup are identical to the golden globes and the dress might as well be the same, but short. although, i do actually like this better than the armani she wore last week, but please bring it for the oscars!!!!
jullianna margulies is having a hell of a comeback and good for her. she and narciso rodriguez have always worked well together and this gown looks wonderful on her...buuut, kinda boring right? i kind of want to stack her arms full of diamonds or give her an obnoxiously large cocktail ring. she just needs something else because this just kind of is for me...
carey mulligan is still topping my super cute list. i love the pink, i love the broach. i love just about everything about this, until you get to the knee...hmm. what is that weird gathering? not so much. makes her look short and like she has a gimp leg. i would almost like to hack this lanvin gown right at the knee and give her some awesome shoes. are you seeing it?
now, i wasn't quite sure where to put jennifer carpenter. but i have to admit, i like this paule ka dress. i probably would have done different shoes, or maybe a burgundy or forest green pump, but i like it. i loove the big amazing art deco earring... so, you ask, why isn't this one of your best dressed? because um, if you direct your eyes upwards...to that mess of a hair do!!! holy helmet head batman! not good. sooooo close.
once again, i loooove this alexander mcqueen and boy do i love me some anna paquin, but something about this look doesn't seem appropriate for the event. it seems far to casual. more like an independent spirit dress. it just needs more. but i am loving everything about this look. perfection.
now, this is sooo much better. after last weeks icky peach mess, it seems that christina hendricks has found a more suitable look. i love red on her. the gown seems to fit her body very well and i absolutely adore the hair and makeup. and don't get me started on those earrings! they are perfect! the gown while beautiful still doesn't do much for me. the column shape is a bit off and i always think they look funny by the hem line... just me.
how fabulous is anna kendrick? i adore her. and i adore this alberta ferretti gown. it is so cute on her and the color is just fantastic on her skin. it does kind of through me back to last years oscars, natalie portman in rodarte. and while natalie's seemed youthful, something about this looks old. i think if she had piled on more accessories that would have helped lighten the spirit of the dress. or the hair, which is my biggest complaint, just seems so old. she really is doing a great job on the carpet. she will figure it out.
gabby sidibe is rocking color my friend and with her skin tone, thank jesus. what a beautiful combination!? i love all of this, the jewels, the gown, the hair and makeup...but i am a little confused by the boobies. somehow they have been so smashed down that you loose that curve. maybe it's just the photographs, but i would definitely push those girls uuup!
