HSN Shoot - Talika (Paris) Light 525 Skin Lightener

I got a call from my friend Gian Ruiz who works for Lux Asia - Ph office and asked me if I want to be a part of the HSN shoot to talk about our experience with Talika (Paris) Light 525 and will be featuring one of the newest products to the Talika Paris brand that he handles. The Talika (Paris) Light 525 Skin Lightener.

 Fashionable design

Talika (Paris) Light 525 Skin Lightener is a beauty gadget no bigger than your usual compact powder that emits green light and make your skin lighter, lessening skin blemishes and promoting skin toning.

No bigger than your ordinary compact powder

Astig diba but here is the more scientific explanation to how the product works. The Talika Light 525 Skin Lightener light rays 525 nano meters long can absorb and break down pigmentation of the skin, resulting to skin whitening.

This is what the manual says: (pls read, very informative)

"In 1970, NASA, thanks to its experience with space flight, revealed that the cells metabolism is reanimated by visible light. this property of animal cells to respond positively to light makes them similar to plant cells, which cannot live with out sunlight: in the same way as during the plant photosynthesis process, light comes into contact with the cells and activates their metabolism.

The principle of Light 525 and Light 590 (this is the other product, collagen booster): Uses light rays corresponding to a spread of pure colors ranging from blue to red. These rays, with no heat source, emitted by diodes, activates the cells deep down and obtain spectacular results.

Melanocytes synthesise melanin pigments, which are responsible for skin coloring. When melanin is produced regularly and constantly, skin pigmentation is uniform.

With combined effects of skin aging and UV rays, melanin production can be affected. The skin looses its glow and over time, brown spots appear up to 2 CM in diameter. they are generally found on the face, hands and forearms."

I got to try the Light 525 that emits the green light and here are the pictures.

  1. You have to place the gadget 3cm away from the spot to be treated.
  2. The green light will automatically shut down after 1 min, indicating the treatment is done and move on to the next spot.
  3. Use it twice a day, one in the morning and another in the evening.

  • Talika Light is very handy - no bigger than your ordinary compact powder, very stylish swivel design.
  • Operates in rechargeable battery, charge using the standard main socket or USB socket.
  • Heat free
  • No over dose (as I was told), so I can play with it when I'm bored. Or I can bring it to rave parties for a light show
 Of course I'm just kidding

Results will be visible within 28 days - so I documented my use and every 5 days I took pictures on how my skin had improved.

Also while waiting for my turn in the studio, Gian and Gelli (his subordinate) gave me the

Talika Eye Detox Contour Gel -
Anti Dark Circles & Anti Puffiness

Helps reduce dark circles and puffiness around the eyes. And like the Talika promise, you'll see visible results in 28 days.

No bigger than your ordinary pen, apply the Talika Eye Detox Contour Gel under the eyes every morning.
I documented this one too ... hehehe

The experience was great, talking about the different Talika products while we wait in the dressing room, fooling around making fun of each other. Good thing we were are the same age and can really relate to each other. I really love working with friends. Gian and I had been friends from way back, Gelli and I met at the shoot of Living Well when they guested.

I took some pictures while the shoot was going on...

i seriously can't live with out...

okay, so i am a product whore. there is no other word for it. i love face creams, nail polishes, fancy body scrubs, lip glosses in every single color known to man, etc. you understand! it's part of being a girl! a fabulous, exfoliated, sparkly, sweet smelling girl!!!! now, with the mountains of products i have purchased there are a few that seriously complete me... so here are my top 5 can't live without products. you are gonna freaking love them!!!!
    5. Obagi Professional-C Serum 15%. I started using this 3 months ago and wow. i don't use it every morning, but anytime i am going out in direct sun or driving for a while, i put it on. just a few drops take care of your entire face. add your sunscreen on top and you are good to go! take that evil sun! haha. i win.
4.Kiehl's Lip Balm SPF 15 #58B. this is the perfect chap stick. the red undertone brightens up your lip without adding saturated color. not to mention it's moisturizing and has spf, my favorite thing in the world! this is always in my bag! brilliant.
    3. CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara. this stuff is the shit. i have literally tried dozens of mascaras and this is by far the most perfect everyday mascara. annnnnd it easily layers for night. it's wonderful. i'm serious. my favorite ever. i don't go anywhere without this stuff. one flick of the wand and i look awake and happy... without any spidery, clumpy nonsense.
    2. Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer. i bought this stuff on a fluke purchasing frenzy. i just wanted to buy makeup. my skin was terrible and i was trying EVERYTHING. well, little did i know that i stumbled upon the greatest makeup of my life. this stuff is a light to medium coverage that perfectly evens out your skin. i can't even tell you. it's perfect. you get this fresh glow without any of the heavy makeup. obsessed.
    1. Clarisonic Mia. the clarisonic brush is the greatest thing i have ever purchased. hands down. it's pricey, i know, but buy it and watch your skin change before your eyes! your products work better. your face glows. it's really worth it. i use the sensitive skin brush head every single day. i apply my cleanser all over my skin, rinse the brush with warm water then buff. it's ah-mazing. seriously, i can't say enough genius things about it!

My 2nd Event - Immuvit's Run Against Time - Greenhills Shopping Center

This event was really a "Run Against Time". We only had a few hours to do the set up. Ingress started at 12:00MN and event starts at 4:30AM. So we really have to chop chop things up, and turn our lazy asses notches higher. Caffeine... caffeine... caffeine!!!!

We had a lot of learnings from our 1st event in Bonicafio High Street, and as good learners we applied all that we can to the 2nd leg of Immuvit's Run Against Time. Kung isa isahin ko... e  kulang ang entry na ito, kase madami kaming kapalpakan. Anyway there is really no perfect event, things does not always fall into plan.

This event is a Sunday morning event that is really different from the Saturday night event that we did before. Obviously runners, health enthusiasts etc.... prefer waking up really early to do their workout when the sun is not to high and hot. The number of participants almost doubled, and the number of pre-registered attendees had a 60% attendance rate. So hello to morning RAT events from now on.

The funnest part of the event was when the run was taking place. Me and my project mates needed to hand colored indicator bands to the the runners. 1 Greenhills round is 1 Km and is 1 Lap. 1 Lap is one colored indicator band.
    1st lap - red
    2nd lap - white
    3rd lap - black
    4th lap - blue
    5th lap - pink

    Run Route

Fun chasing the panting runners and giving them the indicator bands, and fooling aroudn with each other like kids. After the run, breakfast was served and followed by the most awaited Jim Saret's "Somatopause" lecture. This leg Immuvit gave away a Polar RS - 100 running watch as the grand raffle prize.

what the hell does a vegan eat!?

so this recipe is the greatest thing ever. my steak loving husband is in love with this dish...he doesn't even have to add a meat. it is so satisfying and warm and yummy!!!! i got this from the cook book vegan yum yum. i made a few tweeks, but it's pretty much the same recipe. please make this, you are going to friggin' love it.
get your fave mixtures of italian herbs. i like thyme, basil, and tarragon.
add a tablespoon of olive oil and 1/4 cup of pine nuts and a few teaspoons of each herb. cook until the pine nuts are light brown.
add 1 can of strained and rinsed cannellini beans. stir gently, so you don't break the beans. after heated through add 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.
add a crap ton of baby spinach. i usually use an entire bag. it wilts down soooooo much.
i cook up 1 cup of brown rice in 1 3/4 cups salted water. add cooked rice on top of spinach. it will help the spinach wilt.
once it's all cooked, gently mix and add the zest of one lemon.
add 2 seeded and chopped roma tomatoes. heat through.
    serve with a lemon wedge.

dude, you will love this. it sounds so simple, but it comes out perfect every time and is really super tasty. we vegans are smart folks.

Living Well Taping - Earthdance Manila 2010

Last Saturday, me and the other Living Well hosts and staff got the chance to cover the Earthdance Manila 2010 at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Q.C.

As I understood it, Earthdance Manila 2010 is a congregation of different people, religions, beliefs, practices, cultures, etc.... all together in one place, to pray for peace and mother earth. - Correct me if I am wrong.

At 1st I really thought the festival to be weird, but it was just something that I was not used to. Truly a learning experience for me, covering the event made me realize, learn and try alot of things.

Till now I really can;t express the joy I felt while I was there, I was getting goose bumps all over seeing how devoted the attendees to their cause for peace and Mother Earth.

Here are some pictures I got from the event:

In the opening ceremonies, a woman dresses in all white praying to Bathala. Afterward like dozens of different religious representatives said their prayers. Really a congregation for peace!

Picture with Fritz Barth and Billy Bonevie who were in the event to just play their favorite musical instruments, and later on got the people in the event dancing. Dancing for Mother Earth and asking for blessings, of course I danced with them.

Fire dancers lite up the event

Fritz and Billy said that the music they played was World Music, explanation is that the different instruments they used are from different parts of the world, and they all came to one harmony and created good music.

Event organizer Epi Quizon was so passionate about the event, explained to us each and every part of the festival.

     The stage set up

I really had so much fun in this event, I learned so much. I wanted to stay till the event ends but was really sooooo tired to even stand up. Ill be watching our for next year.

Living Well Taping - Global Mala Project

Last Saturday nag taping kami for our episode 11, and the topic is about "Staying Young" One of our topics is Yoga and Meditation and how it helps you to stay young.

So we went to the "Global Mala Project" to cover the event. I also had the chance to interview Miss Teresa Hererra.

    Interview with Miss Teresa Hererra

As Madam Teresa Said, the UN proclaimed September the Month for Peace, so the "Global Mala Project" was organized in support of this cause. Almost 100 + mediators attended the event and the same event is also happening in several countries simultaneously.

In line with the topic of staying young, mediation / yoga really helps alot in staying young be it physically or at heart. Madami pang na cover about meditation and yoga, pero you have to watch our "Staying Young" episode. Catch us Living Well on QTV every Sunday - 830 AM on QTV.
