hate the haters. new moon rules.

so i saw new moon at midnight on thursday evening. and it was an adventure. lindsay and i had a delightful evening. figo pasta for dinner. i was going to have mushroom ravioli, but opted not to be that big of a nerd. if you understand why that makes me a nerd then you are also a giant freaking nerd. we got to the theatre around 9:30 and after taking innapropriate pictures with the posters outside we decided to try our hand at waiting inside, it was damn cold. well, to our surprise we could already be seated. so we sat down, it just so happened to be in club luna nueva. it was hilarious. we seriously cracking up. the quote of the night was by a giant latino gentlemen, who stated, "new moon will make people do some crazy shit!" we were dying! they actually moved seats before the movie started. well, it got a lot less interesting and much quieter. we also saw a ton of uuuugly homemade t-shirts, stating team jacob/edward, or our favorites "team jailbait" ew, gross. the hallways were cramped with lunatic soccor moms. seriously, like 45 years old running around screaming, "who's team edward?!?!" then "who's team jacob?!?" i wanted to scream, "who's a buckhead betty still buzzed from your two o'clock martini-fest!?!?"

isn't my outfit soooo cute? gap skinny jeans, matisse boots, homemade twilight tee...shut it, j.crew cardigan, and my forever 21 hoodie...that i get so many compliments on, it cost 30 dollars, awesome. that's my new hair cut/color too. i loooove it. hodge is a genius.

okay, so it's review time. the trailers started and the audience went wild and to my excitement rarely annoyed again with the exception of the child like giggles that erupted everytime anyone was shirtless. so, what can i say? other than i was a huge fan. i thought it did the books proud and even managed to make it a tad less cheesey. new moon is my favorite of the series and i don't feel like anything too important was left out. the story, of course, follows bella after her vampire love edward leaves her. she is helped out of her vampire coma by her good friend jacob black who happens to be a werewolf. ah, the drama of teenage love. well, of course it get's very exciting when edward thinks bella is dead and decides to off himself. i don't want to give away too much, but really, who doesn't know the story?

the biggest complaint from major film critics was the film's overall downtrodden energy, which i thought was perfect. the whole book is a big depress-fest. i thought that kristen did a beautiful job of showing her loss without being a crybaby, which is true to the story. a few critics also claimed that it lacked the inspiration of the first film...i dissagree, in fact, i think that many things were improved in this film. i thought that this movie was a much closer representation of the book. there were some things that i wish were in the movie, but i didn't feel like anything was lost, whereas in the twilight, i feel like a ton of scenes were left out that really needed to in the film. i thought that the actors did a much better job, seriously, kristen and rob really uped their game and taylor lautner really shocked me. he's going to be a great pain in the ass in eclipse. i loved all the action added in by the filmmakers. plus, i thought in the midst of all the saddness, it was really funny. and dear lord, the special effects were a trillion times better!!!! thank you chris wietz! even the most tight assed critic would have to agree with me about that. i also thought the casting was superb, the volutri, were amazing!! omg, martin sheen as aro was crazy creepy and just soooo good. and dakota fanning was fabulous, she is great at being bad good for her, i mean, her face when bella is immune to her power was priceless. love it.

my biggest complaint was with the music. it sucked. the score was soooo cheesy and really bothered me. the score in the first film was far more interesting, creepy and solemn. i felt like the score almost gave away what was going to happen next. i also thought that the loooong upclose shots were a bit much. i mean, i like looking at jacob's 45 pack just as much as the next girl, but it was like enough already...the only omitted scene i really wish was in the film was when alice talks to charlie while bella is supposed to be "sleeping" but i really don't feel let down. i expected the cheesy dialogue and the childish story...but isn't that kind of the appeal? i mean we like it because it makes us feel like sex crazed teenagers again?

i thought in the end i think that if you are a fan, you will still be a fan. i think if you are a normal human being and not a movie snob and you have a vagina you are probably going to like it. if you are a normal human being and not a movie snob and have a penis you may like it. otherwise, if you are an alien and a movie snob you are probably not going to be a fan...

so what did you think? love it? hate it? anything you are pissed wasn't included? tell me all of your thoughts. just don't be unnecessarily mean. i will delete you.

new moon mania continues...

so my dear friends, i am taking a mini-vacay to atlanta this week and i wanted to leave you with a few blogs worthy of this momentous week, NEW MOON BITCHES!!!!!! it's here, finally, all our favorite new moon cast at the la premiere. my excitement can barely be contained, yay!!!
do you see why i love kristen stewart? we have oscar de la renta to thank for this amazing gown. i just adore the softness. it's sweet, but not boring, it's far from boring! the hair and makeup are just perfect. for the love of all that is holy, could robert pattinson be any better looking? i think i may actually love him ;) okay, well no. but boy he knows how to wear a suit. i'm very happy. rob is doing what he does best in a gucci suit.
dakota fanning is such a grown up! i absolutely adore this dress and her pair of satin burgundy pumps. i am a sucker for black cut out gowns with nude underlays. she really is just coming into her own. i hope she stays normal.
um, so yeah, this isn't great, in fact this might actually be bad. uh, ashley greene has a thing for this pageant debutant texas hair...it's not good. the dress is pretty and stunning from the back, but combined with the hair she looks like a dynasty extra.
elizabeth reaser has completely made up for those god awful shoes from my last post. she just looks hot. herve leger's bandage dress isn't exactly ground breaking, but i love the white gown with the burgundy pumps. again. this really must be a new thing. i love it.
this is a tough one, i love this dress on nikki reed and i think everything about the styling is great. it just doesn't really seem appropriate for the occasion. the shoes are killer hot and i really do like the dress...it just feels more cocktail party than major premiere...i mean ashley and kristen are in gowns. it's not so much the length...just the style...does that make sense? i'm tired, that's all you are getting.
so anna kendrick is going to be a superstar. just letting you know. this girl is crazy talented... she may want to invest in a stylist...something about this isn't working. the shoes...the bag...the drop earrings...i don't know, it's just not adding up for me, i mean the dress is fun, but just not styled well. but i can't stress enough that i LOVE this girl.
another human, christine serrano, uh...well...uh...yuck. it's definitely the lips, what is that color?next is the booties, they are far too area 51 for her disco ball dress which could be sexy with a pair of metallic strappy heels. wow. wow. wow. wow. i bet he's great in bed...holy bananas did i say that out loud!?!?! :) hehe. thanks mr. armani for making such a dead sexy suit.
i love this picture edi and kellan are both so freaking cute. loooove edi's suit. only he could pull that off.
this kid is smoking hot. i love that taylor decided to wear a navy calvin klein , it suits him well. yummo.
uh, well maybe it's the hair. i like the purple striped shirt...maybe it's the vest...i mean peter facinelli is a handsome guy, but i am just going to give this an alright. it's not bad. jennie garth's hair is bad.
ah, jackson rathbone. he's such a stud, i love the texture on the suit and the piping on the lapel... if only i could work on those side burns. hmm. he's a musician so we will let it slide. but just this once.
so newcomer charles bewley is super cute, but appears to be wearing his vampire costume and way too much eye makeup. some one should tell him he's not really a vampire.

the moon rules #1...

i am just in the best mood, you know it. 3 freaking days and just a handful of hours until i am in my own personal, self indulgent heaven. i, of course, will be blogging my thoughts of the film because well...i want to. good enough. so the twilight folks are stinking everywhere and i wanted to just show off some of my favorite outfits during their promotional excursions. they are mostly of my girl crush kristen, but the rest of the well dressed cast makes appearances as well.
all three hotties at an entertainment weekly photo shoot. love kstew's glitzy black gown with the sporty "safari" jacket, i don't really know what to call it, but i'm in love. the all just look very hip and fresh.
at yet another premiere. she's wearing proenza schouler, say what you will, i think it's hot. funky, young, and chic. i love the colors and it's nice seeing her in color.
dear lord, she's smiling in so many of these photos that i'm seriously shocked. once again, love this little balenciaga number, i seriously want those shoes. the sheer fabric is tres bon.
doing press for the film, i am in love with this dress. and i love this picture she looks so young and innocent...we know the truth.
so cute, both of them, i just dig her outfit. i'm a little iffy on the shoes, but i love the all of the black in various textures, very visually dynamic...(that's a movie quote from twilight) eye roll...taylor looks relaxed in casual, love the grey jacket. the shoes are a bit ick, but he gets better.
ah, the love birds. what? they are totally doing it! both are in d&g jackets, her dress is kova, and her shoes are mr. choo. i love his style, it's just so grungy chic. and she's such a rock star. i really hope they're doing it.
at the same event in la, taylor lautner sexed it up, also in d&g. what a dreamboat? i love love love the velvet vest...so hot. omg, i want this dress!!!!! oh, elizabeth and james...i freaking love the olsen twins. this dress is perfection! i am seriously lusting. the best part of her ensemble is the burgundy platform pumps!! i die. if it was possible to make this dress even hotter, the shoes did it. now i really like elizabeth reaser aka esme cullen and i am totally digging her dress, the shoes, however, look like they are orthopedic for her clubbed foot. i'm choosing to overlook that, cause from the ankles up, i would totally hit that...
how freaking adorable is kellan lutz. love him. love his shirt. love his jacket. love. love. love.
isn't she sweet. i think that's why i am so enamored with kstew's style. she goes from edgy rocker to sweet and ethereal in a heartbeat. both seem natural for her. this j.mendel is sweet and soft and delightful for the paris premiere. i'm a fan of the sergio rossi pumps.
oh look it's my next husband. looking super hot in paris. i really like him in these grey nubby jacket, is it tweed? i can't tell. what a hot shot.
aren't those boots dangerous? i'm 99.9% positive that they are christian louboutin. the jacket with the dress is a bit strange, but girlie is smoking hot. and kellan just looks manly and on trend. can't ask for more.
they sooooo love each other. well, at least that is what i will keep telling myself. love this gucci dress. she really understands her body and somehow never looks skanky in these short tight minis. it's probably her boyish shape...if i wore all of these dresses with my rear end, i'd look like a hooker.

hope you dig it? do you? don't you? tell me? you know i thrive on comments, it makes me feel special. disagree with me, it's soooo much fun!!!

i am fabulous...with a side of ranting.

remember when dakota fanning was just a cute little girl opposite sean penn in i am sam? anyone else feeling ridiculously old right now? oi, this chick is so smoking hot. on top of just being a stellar child turned teen actress, she seems so level-headed and together, which among hollywood youth is a crazy hard thing to do. this cutie is gracing the dec/jan issue of teen vogue and doing it with all kinds of crazy style. this spread was styled perfectly, every outfit is chic and wearable! fanning discusses her new super creepy role, jane, in the twilight saga and badass rocker chick, cherie currie, in the upcoming runaways. if you wanna read more you can check it out here.

sidenote: with that said, i have huge problem with these magazines that are supposedly selling to teens? vera wang? marc jacobs? dude, in my grown up fantasies i can barely afford labels, what is this teaching kids? now, i was reading instyle and vogue when i was in middle school and maybe that just makes me superior to most kids because i didn't expect to own the things i was reading about, but who am i kidding? most kids do!!! i remember trying to get my mom to buy me exorbitantly priced labels like abercrombie & fitch, i mean i would beg for a pair of 60 dollar jeans! now you see kids walking around in citizens and true religion. my mom would have slapped me sideways. she still gives me crazy looks when i tell her how much i spend on clothing and accessories, but by most fashion magazines standards what i spend on clothes is "budget spending"!!!! i mean it is nearly impossible to look at an outfit in a magazine and be able to afford more than two of the pieces. so what do you think? have fashion magazines, teen or not, gotten out of hand? are we teaching kids to love fashion or to be label whores?

go on with your bad self...

i love kristen stewart. sue me. i find her interesting and smart. plus, i really appreciate a chick out there in the world who could give a crap about being "famous," but rather just want to make movies. so she may smoke pot from time to time...guess what? so does your favorite friend jennifer aniston, but because she looks sweet and does cute interviews it's okay...blah.

i love this outfit that k.stewart recently donned at a new moon press ordeal. i think it's feisty and badass with a touch of super trendy chic. i love everything from the suspenders down to the shoes, so what her hair is a bit greasy!?!? that just emphasizes the rockstar attitude. those who know her, wouldn't holly ann totally rock the socks out of this outfit? she totally would. i think an outfit like this takes guts, as all of the best outfits do. think about nicole kidman in her galliano for dior chartreuse masterpiece or charlize theron in her bowed dior stunner. it takes balls to become a style icon. excuse my dirty mouth.
