Mano Po 6
Like what I said sa Facebook ko.....
Mano Po 6 was really great, I love it, I cried with it and I can relate to the movie since I am Chinese myself.

But the situations that happen of not recognizing a half Fil-Chi daughter-in-law was quite OA na if it'll happen this time and age. Maybe back in the 70's or 80's.
For me the best Mano Po was the 2nd one, maybe because same situation still happens till the present day. Chinese father dies, the eldest song assumes the responsibilities. the father having a mistress, but the real wife turns a blind eye just to keep the family for the children's sake. Ohhhhh I so can relate! hahahahahhaha.

nothing says fashion like kelly clarkson and hockey...
now, i know what you are thinking...kelly clarkson and hockey have very little to do with fashion...well, you would be right, but i made sure to look super cute watching both.
back home for christmas, we talked my parents into taking us to an atlanta thrashers game! yay hockey!!! i decided i wanted to be cute for all of my boys, who suck by the way. they lost 5-4. i was sooooo angry, but at least there were some good fights. i went for my fave cheapo thick tights, my kensie tunic, my old navy cardi, my forever21 bomber hoodie, and my kelly & katie boots. my headband is the cutest little sparkly bow, it's by goodies, i got it for 5 dollars at target. i really looked cute and it matched my thrashers scarf, not pictured. i really wish i had some over the knee boots to wear, but i just haven't found any that i loooove, well any that i can afford :)

happy freaking holidays...
so i am totally a scrooge this year. blah. but i do love my family, even more, i love the ladies in my family. my mom, sister, and neice are three of the coolest people i have ever met and despite my holiday nasty i love these ladies. here are some photos of my super fabulous family.
i think my scooge-ness is displayed perfectly in this photo. i'm super hot, while looking like i want to punch santa in the wiener.
shan and kylie being cute, it's also one of the rare photos where kylie actually looks at the camera.
hurricane kylie. she is adorable. and her skirt is awesome. i would wear it. right now.
sandy and kylieboo being super cute. i really like this picture of my ma.
me and my hot sister. i'm rocking a simply vera tunic, forever32 liquid leggings, and aldo heels.

my model poses. so now we all know why i'm not a model :)
costume change. well, let's just say it's hard to walk on my parents super polished hardwood in the 4 inch heels, so i switched to my trusty yellow box leopard flats.
i hope everyone has a fabulous holidays!!! merry christmas-hanukkah-kwanza-festivus!

lauren lanza osias is sad...

i just wanted to post because well, this is where i get to vent and you get to hear it. the adorable and talented brittany murphy passed away this morning of a cardiac arrest and that makes me really sad. i'm sure the media shit-storm will begin shortly with all kinds of bollocks and crap, but i just wanted to say that i thought she was charming and supremely talented. she was a versatile actor, who really made me laugh. not to mention, i loved this ladies voice. my condolences go out to her family and friends.

a bunch of hot chicks and crap-ton of botox.
the botox is all from nicole kidman's marble forehead. which begs the question? what was wrong with her forehead before? nothing? she has never not been hot! now she looks like an alien...and don't get me started on those lips...I digress. Rob Marshall's babe-fest musical nine had it's new york premiere and all of the sexy ladies made it out. i can't wait to see this movie, too bad the hubby will never go see it with me, hmph.

fergie-ferg looks pretty fabulous in her marchesa gown. the big dark hair, the flowy white chiffon, the sparkly belt, jewels, bag. i am okay with all of this. it's not super fashion forward, but at least it's not a hot mess and fergie knows a lot about hot mess. remember the pee? so strange.

is it just me or does this not look good...

hmm, very interesting...

so if you know me, you know that i friggin love diets. not really going on them, but i am fascinated by nutrition and how the body works. i have read sooooo many contradicting things, but in general i just feel that if you are kind to your body and do naughty things only in moderation you should be good to go. i have for a very long time been interested in leading a vegetarian lifestyle, i gave up red meat nearly 6 years ago and haven't looked back. i have also recently had to take a break from dairy and as much as i love it, i really do feel lighter when i don't eat it. i am loving cher horowitz's aka alicia silverstone's new book, the kind diet. silverstone went vegan in the late 90's and has never looked or felt better. it's written for people like me who need help knowing what they are getting into going meatless, she really tries to educate from a medical, spiritual, and environmental standpoint. she also seems to understand that not everyone can uphold this lifestyle because this type of eating goes beyond a simple diet plan. also, i still get grief from my italian family about not eating red meat, so i love that she makes a point of saying that this is something you do for yourself, so you feel healthy. we will see.
the book has brought up some really interesting conversations between myself and my very carnivorous husband and i am only on the 22nd page. i will keep you posted, but for tonight i am going to go grill some chicken ;)
*check out alicia silverstone's website here. it's full of great information and a wonderful group of people.

it's fun to be the the most stylish person in an entire city...
so bo and i took a quick trip to asheville, nc to see the biltmore and what we found was the cutest little city full of great restaurants, awesome art galleries, and a whole bunch of tacky hippies. yikesola! these folks were crazy. i'm all for being comfortable, but it was a peasant skirt, patagonia nightmare. i should've taken pictures, but i didn't. i still wanted to feel cute despite all of the tack. and so cute i was. it was freaking cold, so i got to bundle up and it was a great excuse to layer. plus, i finally got to wear my purple tights!!!! yay!!!

so tasty i had to share...
holy bananas this was good. a few weeks ago, bo and i were hungry and tired and we whipped this meal together in record time, seriously, like 10 minutes total. it was so tasty and not terribly bad for you either.
whole wheat tortillini with artichokes and peas for 2
1 package of ww buitoni pasta
1 can of artichoke hearts in water, quartered
1 1/2 cup frozen peas (we really like peas, use what you like)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic minced (we like garlic, use what you like)
start water for pasta with peas in to defrost, bring to a boil, and cook pasta as directed on package. heat up olive oil and saute the garlic until it's aromatic, but before it turns brown. Add artichokes to oil and garlic, toss around. add a few table spoons of pasta water to oil. strain peas and pasta and add to oil. mix up and serve. add parm or red pepper to taste. sooo good.
if you try it, let me know how it works out for you.
