honest to blog.

so apparently i don't suck at this. this being blogging. i have my first freelance blogging gig doing a weekly fashion blog, Fashion Fridays, for my stellar wedding planner morgan gallo. so while many of you have already taken the tumble into wedded bliss, it is my same brand of sarcasm with pretty wedding gowns. i even use capital letters. amazing, so professional. i believe the first post (just an intro) should be up tomorrow. morgan plans weddings in dc, savannah, the carolinas, and pretty much anywhere, so keep that in mind if you have any friends tying the knot. anyways you can check it out by going to blogs i'm following savannah wedding planner or by heading over to morgan's website and clicking on the blog link. happy wedding fashion.

oscars 2009. clarifications and additions.

here are two additions from the after parties! kate bosworth in alexander mcqueen, who if you asked me looks stunning and healthy and gwen stefani in chanel, who has been absent from events for some time now. she is always a rock star and i love her shag gown. elegant and badass. that is a hard combo to pull off. i think both of these ladies look hip and fresh.

as requested a photo of tina fey wearing one of my favorite runway dresses from zac posen. this as far as i am concerned the best she has ever looked. plus, she and steve martin had me cracking up! her hair and makeup are just stellar. i love this dress. i even have a picture of it from the runway on my computer. i am soooo lame.

*i have decided that i indeed hate jessica biel's gown, mostly because she was wearing closed toe black satin shoes. ewwww!!!!! whose idea was that? i can't find a photo and i am sure that is because cameras all over the carpet broke as they tried to shoot the offending footwear.

**also, i am tired of seeing miley cyrus on worst dressed lists. she looked amazing and took a risk wearing something different. and let's not forget i am always right.

***yay, decisions. i have narrowed down my top three, finally.  1. penelope cruz 2. natalie portman 3. taraji p. henson.

whimsey returns to the academy awards.

and i loved every sparkley tulle and chiffon covered second of it!!!! the oscars have far exceeded my expectations!!! not only was the show the best it has been in years, hugh jackman was fantastic, in my mind the right people won. yay, heath, kate, and penelope! my shirt is still wet from crying. don't judge! so this is going to be a giant post full of pretty dresses. i really should spread them all out so that i have something to blog about for awhile, but to hell with it, we are gonna rock all of them!!! i totally wanna know what you think so make your vote for best and worst dressed. it's fun to judge people!!! let's rock some of my favorite gowns.

oscars 2009. presenters and leslie mann rockin' the nights trends

so the top secret presenters looked amazing last night, they were totally on point with the light and dark trend. these are a few of my favorite and least favorite people in the world and they all looked amazing! i am still working on nic and halle's gowns designer. i will update when i find them.
leslie mann looked unreal! sparkly and delicious in her pamella roland gown. she of course was her hilarious hubbies date to the big shindig and she looked beautiful. it was fancy and shiny without being cheesy or pageanty. i think she looked better than some of the honored ladies of the evening.
nicole kidman is always stunning and i loved her white coloumn feather gown. the gown really shows off her freakishly tall and slender body. i love kidman's hair in the faux bob. stunning. if only she would lay off the stinking botox.
sigh. many of you know that i am not a super fan of jennifer aniston, but she looked fantastic. well, the braid was pretty ridiculous, but her gown, valentino couture, was white hot. (that is an office reference and if you don't get it, shame on you)
yay! reese wore rodarte! i love this dress so so so so much! she looked spectacular. this is such a different choice for her and i am thrilled. i love when folks go out of their comfort zones and she did and looked amazing.
you all know how i feel about her. yuck... yuck. yuck. yuck. but she is a beautiful woman and she looked the best i have seen her in quite some time. the dress was stunning on her, it flattered her body unbelievably well and it looked fantastic on stage.

oscars 2009. dark done right.

black/dark gowns will never ever go out of style, but i am super glad that they were kept to a minimum on tonight's red carpet. and when they did show up they were far from boring. this years dark hued gowns were all spectacularly interesting, they were filled with intricate and complicated details that just make my heart swoon.

yummy kate winslet finally won!!! yay! so deserved! she looked fiercely fashionable in her ysl gown. she rocked the one shoulder gown which is all the rage and did it with such grace. i love the mixture of satin and embroidered netting, the back made me really happy. there is a part of me that wished the gown was solid black or gray, but who care what i think? answer. no one. i haven't even discussed how hot her hair and makeup were. how hot you ask? really hot.
angelina jolie did me proud wearing a body hugging chiffon elie saab. the gown is still a bit boring, but i am going to let it slide because her giant emerald drop earrings were the most perfect piece of jewelry on the red carpet. she is a seriously hot lady.
so i have no idea who this is, but i am totally digging her custom made marchesa gown. okay, so i do know who this is, but i really am not proud of that. this gown was originally a short dress which marchesa's designer georgina chapman made floor length for zac efron's girlfriend. i think it is a bit old for her, but the whole package is truly stunning. i love the bodice and the fun geometric flowers. the earrings with the hair absolutely rocks my world.
the first few times i saw this dress i thought it was a yucky version of anne hathaway's armani prive from the golden globes, but after seeing it on stage in the lights, i am converted. it really is a gown made for movement. this dior gown really is a stunner. her makeup looks a bit garish in this picture, but really came across softer on tv. i just love the cinched waist with the giant skirt, it's a great proportion that everyone seems to be loving as well!
i love diane lane and just thought she should get a little nod for being the hottest 44 year old on the planet. while not particularly daring, she looked amazing in dolce and gabbana. her hair and makeup rocked my socks. i love when she wears her hair up on the carpet, so i am smiling.

oscars 2009. a colorful affair.

yay for color! it was lovely to see a punch of color on the red carpet and all of these women really have the personalities to pull these bright hues off.
natalie portman never does the expected and tonight was no different. she looked angelic in her pink rodarte frock. i really think she can pull off anything, even insanely bright pink. she seriously one of the most effortlessly dressed actresses out there and tonight she really just made me smile.
okay, before you bite my head off, i am a bit confused by this red roland mouret gown. it is totally on trend with fashion week with the origami patterns. heidi klum is indeed a supermodel,so i think she is allowed to make risks. i am in love with her jewels. the diamond stacked bracelets were breathtaking. it's like they just couldn't stop piling them on. i love it.
i haven't been a fan of feida pinto's red carpet choices all award season long and tonight was no different. i don't like this, but i do think she looks stunning and her john galliano gown is not a complete disaster. the blue on her skin tone is absolutely delicious. i just wish i could rip that sleeve right off.
amanda seyfried is a newcomer to the oscar carpet and while i am not in love with her valentino gown, i love that she is reaching out of the box for a new silhouette. she's not playing it safe, she is wearing color, the origami influence, and is totally on trend with her tiered necklace. these are all giant pluses to me. can't wait to see more from her.

oscars 2009. pretty in pale.

white and silver sparkles were huge on the fashion week runways and they were also a major theme at this years academy awards and i loved just about all of them. there was a fantastic mixture of romantic and geometric. all these gowns are so delightful and they all made me happy. bravo.

i think this gown is my favorite. i am so thrilled penelope cruz won, she absolutely deserved it. and my god did she look stunning and modern and whimsical! her vintage balmain gown floats around her like a beautiful hand beaded cloud. the whole ensemble is just flawless. i love her.

marisa tomei really did me proud tonight. first off, she is wearing under eye concealer, yay! she really selected a gown that made her look pretty, skinny and just fantastic. her delightfully fashion forward versace had all of the nights major trends: color, origami geometric shapes, and asymmetry. the neckline is a bit strange to me, but overall this gown really stands out. it dramatically shows off her killer body and makes me happy.

i don't know if i like this gown. i know i don't hate it. and i know that jessica biel looked stunning. this prada colomn gown is great for her body shape, i think it just bugs me that it is a not so successful version of eva mendes dior at the golden globes. i also hate that she is carrying a black purse. you have "people" you shouldn't even have a purse!!!!
sarah jessica parker's boobs need a stinkin' oscar!!! wow. up to her freakin' chin. when i first saw this unbelievable dior gown, i had to pause the tv. STUNNING! parker calls the color "barely mint" and it is simply delightful. it is such a happy gown. her hair and makeup are flawless. amazing!
so i can only pray, wish, and hope to have an ounce of taraji p. henson's talent. she is a spectacular and truly humble and lovely person. and she looked hot!!! she rocked the white trend with perfection in roberto cavalli. i just want to be friends with her!
okay, i will admit that i have been known to on occasion watch a little hannah montana on the disney channel, but i would in no way consider myself a "fan." with that said, miley cyrus always seems to rock the red carpet and tonight was no different! this was one of my favorites of the evening. this zuhair murad gown made me swoon. omg! the cinched waist makes the scale of this dress perfection. the back of the gown is just as stunning and interesting. bravo.
i love evan rachel wood and while i am not head over heels for her nude elie saab, i do really love her effortlessness. she totally looked like a classic starlet with the chignon and chandelier earrings. if only i could talk her into dying her hair blonde again.
anne, anne, anne. i love this woman. she looked stunning in armani prive and let it be known this was my second choice for her. please, believe me!!! she looked amazing and i am so happy for all of her success. tonight she was a kockout! i love that she didn't go overboard with accessories, which totally would have competed with her gown. her hair and makeup, as always rocked. this is a solid look for her and i can't wait to see her on more red carpets.

oscars 2009. the missteps.

as i said before i really didn't think there were any huge nasties...well...there were a few. i feel so bad singling these women out...you're right i don't, but let it be said all of these women are amazing actresses...just actresses in need of a stylist.
i love melissa george, lauren reed rocks my socks off, but this dolce & gabanna just doesn't do it for me. she is trying to be kate beckinsale and it is not working. the exposed boning on the bodice is hard to see in the picture, but trust me it looks super unfinished and reminds me of cheep lingerie. the hair and makeup look lovely, but girl needs some help, did you see her at the golden globes. yikes.

amy adams is such a classy lady and her hair and makeup look absolutely stunning, the necklace and even the color of the gown are spectacular, but yikesola what is that bodice? the black piping on her carolina herrera gown is tacky and the strange flow of chiffon from her bosoms is simply unflattering. i was really sad.

this didn't surprise me. lord beyonce can't dress herself to save her life. this is ungodly nasty. we know she has a killer body and like the two previous ladies her hair and makeup are stunning, but this seriously is a nasty ugly gown. plus, she looks like a stuffed sausage. someone so pretty shouldn't have to look this bad. it's house of dereon, no wonder.

poor melissa leo. she had to shoot frozen river in freezing upstate new york and the color of her badgley mishka gown is just as cold and depressing. it's even worse than depression, it's baby poop. and the horrid bodice not only makes her look without breasts it also comes to a quite unflattering point right at her crotch. sorry, i am not a fan.

i love this women! viola davis is such an amazing actress and stunning. this dress is awful!!! reem acra should be ashamed of such an outdated cheap design. and with viola's amazing skin this color is just blah. this makes me want to stay in bed for a week.

oh dear god. tilda swinton is a splendid actress, she is hilarious in person, and she scares the living shit out of me on the red carpet. she is horrifying. this lanvin creation just makes me speechless. like, i literally have no words.

fun at the independent spirit awards.

my favorite dress of the evening, zooey deschanel in lela rose. i love just about everything zooey does, so why would her dress be any different? it is sexy and quirky and looks amazing on her skin. love it!
do you see a trend with the dark tights and shoes? the celebs are still rockin' it so we should be too. penelope cruz seems to be taking herself really seriously lately with these dark, long, heavy dresses and i love the lightness of the chiffon on her chocolate alaia dress.
i can't find out who designed this to freakin save my life, but i love it. michelle williams is like the most perfect little pixie fairy princess. she always looks completely carefree, yet so put together and elegant. she screams indie spirit.
as you all know the olsen twins rock my world and mary-kate rocked it last night, i'm pretty sure, in a vintage frock. her hair and makeup were fabulous and she kept her hippie vibe alive with the stack of bracelets and rings on every finger.
now claire danes has totally been missing in action for awhile. well, it's mostly goes she is totally indie now and she looked absolutely freaking delish last night!!! she walked the carpet in a two piece lanvin which rocked my mind, almost as much as her totally hot fiance hugh dancy. yum. i love the shoes, the necklace, and the makeup. clean and stunning.

i have to admit i couldn't focus last night to save my life. so trying to watch the spirit awards didn't really work out and between mickey rourke actin' a fool and cameron diaz's inability to read...even in phonetics, i just couldn't take it, so i watched queer eye instead. i am seriously having trouble finding a few of the designers and will update as i find them. well, there you have it, my faves! don't forget the oscars tonight!!!!! hooray!!!!

yay.

here's a little sneak peak at new moon's graphics and official title, the twilight saga new moon. seriously, i am so excited. and please, no mean comments...gina. this is also a post to remind you that the oscars are on sunday!!! and ladies, robert pattinson and kristen stewart are rumored to be presenting. excitement. kristen always dresses amazing and well rob...rob is just stinkin' HOT! mmm...that voice. so don't forget to watch!!! i'll say it again, yay!!!!

I Looooooove "He is Just Not That into You"

I got to see He is Just Not That Into You last night and I was one of the best movie I've seen.... I LOVE IT!!!!!

The movie is an eye opener to both Male and Female who are out there in the dating scene hoping to find "The One". But the movie shows that before you find "The one" you need to go through alot of shit.

Youll never go wrong!

Funny - Romantic - Really Great!
Youll never go wrong!

You may think that the movie is based on how guys dump girls, but the movie also showed how girls dump guys.

Scarlett's character Anna dumped Kevin's character Conor who dumped Gigi the always available girl who is always so excited to find love. Anna treated Conor like a door mat, and would just spend time with him on her convenient time. Well because Conor is always available when Anna would need him.

Well thats just one side of the story..... But the bottom line is .... I LOVE IT!!!!! Well unlike Bride Wars that I din't really enjoy. even if I really adore Hudson and Hathaway.

good times. great website.

i absolutely love gwyneth paltrow! she is amazing. bo and i have been finally catching up with our spain...on the road again and we have both been loving it! gwyneth, or gp as mario batali lovingly calls her, really is the classiest yet some how down to earth star i have ever come across. i simply adore her and know that we would be the best of friends...if indeed we ever met one another.
today while checking fitsugar, i came across an article about gp's detox diet, yuck, and was shocked, she has a website that i have never heard of??? well, i have heard of it now and it is seriously good times. the site is broken up into 6 sections, do, make be, see, go, and my favorite get. the outfit above is from her get page where she shows us her method of putting everyday outfits together. i am in love. www.goop.com for good times.

what would you pay for perfect skin?

now i realize asking this, that most of my followers have pretty damn good skin. i on the other hand was cursed with this awful greasy italian zitty mess, but what do you think good skin is worth? 100 dollars? 500 dollars? 1000 dollars?!?! more? if i had the money i don't know if there is any amount that i wouldn't pay. that could be 25 years of spotty skin speaking. is that crazy talk? i really don't think so.

shopaholic made me laugh. a lot.

so i went into this film guarded and expecting very little and that method seems to have payed off. the film made me laugh out loud, both lydia and i were cracking up throughout the entire movie. isla fisher is the most adorable creature on the planet and without her this movie would have been a complete failure. she manages to be endearing and absolutely ridiculous all at the same time. the supporting cast is fantastic, despite being underused, and hugh dancy is just hot. as i predicted, the movie is a big jumble of the first three shopaholic books and manages to work pretty well, there are so many extremely funny things that of course are absent, but all things considered i think it flows pretty well. i really wasn't a fan of the talking mannequins, but mostly because mannequins are creepy. and while the romantic comedy cheese is indeed very cheesy, quirky fisher and super handsome dancy pull it off without too much embarrassment.  i will most likely own this movie, but let it be said i still think she should've been a brit.  go, watch, laugh, let me know if you agree.

hermione granger is all grown up.

emma watson looked stunning at the baftas, my best dressed by a mile. she has this amazing way of looking chic and her age, which seems to be difficult for young celebrities. i am in love with this temperley london gown! it doesn't even bother me that it is black, the interesting detailed neck completely makes up for the color. the mixture of the fresh face, the messy bun, and the gown. it is so boho chic. c'est magnifique!

Baftas 2009

angelina jolie, armani
amy adams, roland mouret
marisa tomei, etro
the american girls looked fantastic at this year's baftas. i think they all made really interesting choices, especially marisa tomei, who looked infinitely better than the past two award shows. her hair was still a bit iffy, but it looks as though she decided to wear some under eye concealer which was noticeably absent at the golden globes. i love the weightlessness of the gown, even with the pattern and the sparkle it remains romantic and soft. the shoes, which are just peeking through, were hot! amy adams roland mouret gown was not incredibly interesting, but fits her magnificently and is a departure from her red carpet norm. what makes this work is her make up, which is fantastic, the heavy lined eye with the neural lip is so beautiful on her and with her hair pulled back her eyes really popped. i thought the look as a whole was great on her. and lastly mrs. pitt, who finally wore a different silhouette which made me very happy. i actually love this dress, the origami shapes on the bodice are going to be hot this fall. i loved her hair and make up, very classy. my only real problem with this gown is the length, it just seems a bit off. i can't tell if it needs to be longer or shorter...who knows? i still expect more from all at the oscars!!! one more week! yay!

i need help. for serious.

due to my complete obsession with all things material, i have a sad announcement. i, lauren lanza osias, am on a BUDGET!!! yuck! i mean what is the fun in that? but i absolutely have to be these next two months, considering i am going all over the place and having loads of fun, i must reserve the dough for plane tickets, gas, slot machines, concerts, food, and beverages of an alcoholic persuasion. so it looks like my blog will only be things i wish for and don't actually buy. and it starts this instant and what do you know? i am already angry. what am i going to do now? all i do it shop! ask tricia and pilita! it's true. and when i am not shopping, i am looking up things that i will eventually buy, within the week, month, or the next 20 years.

i totally need a hobby and you'd think i would just get a job, but yikesola! the job market here blows. as i am not a qualified x-ray technician, nor do i want to go door to door selling farm equipment, my options are quite limited. so besides blogging and going to the gym...what are my options? help me! what hobbies should i take up? let me know what you think i should do.

oh, and i promise i will shamefully report anything i buy to the blog.

forever 21 rocks my socks.

today i was bored and i took it upon myself to do some bargain shopping. i should probably go to therapy for my shopping habits, but c'est la vie! i was super excited by all of the cute dresses on forever 21's website. so adorable and so cheap. i could have bought all of the dresses on the site for the price of the louboutin's!!!! do you see how i rationalize? crazy.
