since i have a totally obsessive personality i couldn't stop wondering what people would be wearing to this years oscars, with so many amazing gowns on the runway this season i can't help myself. they are keeping presenters secret so i can only guess who else might be at the show, so these are my selections for a few lovely ladies who may be walking the red carpet.
i think this oscar de la renta gown would be perfect for cameron diaz. she looks fantastic in a column skirt and the crazy extra fabric would give her boyish figure some serious hip action. and she is amazing in strapless! she has unbelievable shoulders!
oh my god. can't you see Mrs. Kidman-Urban rocking this!!! only a freaking super model could pull of the proportions of this emanuel ungaro champagne stunner, so she is the celebrity to do it. nicole kidman is pretty much a fashion genius and i think this look is chic and funky. perfect.
i love love love rodarte. they make me so happy! i could totally see keira knightley wearing this amazing chiffon masterpiece. she is a fan of the designers and i totally think she could pull this off. she would look like a rock n' roll fairy princess. who doesn't love that look? i really hope someone wears them!
i love the gathered fabric on this j. mendel gown. not to mention the bodice is amazing. i think this silhouette would be fantastic on kate winslet, perhaps in a color, although kate has proven she can wear pale colors with her light skin tone.
i love this gown for anne hathaway! navy looks amazing on her unbelievable skin. i think this reem acra would be a fun shape for her to try. she has been constantly changing things up this season, but has yet to wear something form fitting and i totally think she needs to show off her newly svelte body. i want her to win so badly and i haven't even seen the movie.
i want penelope cruz to rock this dress so badly!!! this orangey red monique lhuillier would be amazing on her. she has been wearing boring skin hugging gowns lately, but i am eagerly anticipating her return to grand gowns on the red carpet. and yes, it does look a bit like the vintage valentino jennifer garner wore to the oscars in '04, but this gown really is so much more interesting. wear it penelope!!!
amy adams has been consistently fabulous on the red carpet. one of my top picks all season long. i know she seriously loves a demi cup fitted bodice with a full ball gown skirt, preferably with pockets, but i thought the sparkly bodice and swishy column skirt of this badgley mischka would be a departure from her oscar norm, yet still within her comfort zone.
finally, these are two picks for angelina jolie. i love the sexy rockstar vibe of the carolina herrera. i love angie in black and i can't wait for her to start embracing her sex kitten side again. she has gotten so incredibly skinny lately that the shape of the gown and placement of fabric around the hips would just do amazing things for her curves. i have chosen an alternate just in case she decides to stay "comfortable." i love the goddess flowy-ness of the golden donna karan. and who doesn't love beaded tulle?! i am sure she will look super chic no matter what she wears. i am also sure that she will be avoiding giuliana rancic like the plague. god that interview gave me nightmares.
i have like 30 more picked out. so perhaps i will post a few more as the awards get closer. don't forget the grammy's and bafta's on feb. 8th.
it is difficult to be angelina jolie and not be hot. like even if she was actively trying to look plain it would be impossible, but what the duck is up with this silhouette? she wore the same designer, max azria, to this years globes in an almost identical shape. now i accepted the floaty style the first go around, but is this really the same women who rocked that amazing leather versace gown to the Mr. and Mrs. Smith premiere. and oh my god, that sparkly randolph duke she wore to the 1999 golden globes. hot, hot, hot. but this just seems, blah. come on angie at the oscars make us all hate to look in the mirror and live up to your potential.
it goes without saying all of the women above are beautiful, amazing actresses. but really ladies, are we being all that we can be? i mean eva looks like a sherbet cream puff, freida looks like she is up for miss. south carolina, penelope looks she is wearing a velvet cowboy bib, and emily blunt, possibly the most beautiful women ever, looks old, frumpy, and that dress is just disco ball disaster. on top of the dresses being less than stellar, what is up with the hair? emily and i are currently wearing the same hairdo, a dirty slicked back bun and don't get me started on eva, was she late for the junior ice capades!! basically, i was super disappointed with the lot of them, mostly because they all usually rock the red carpet. i expect more at the oscars ladies.
with my awards season well underway, you must know that when i arrived home this evening to find that my dvr had failed to record my 4 hours of pre-show happenings i nearly had a coronary. ask bo. it was serious. so i have been scouring the internet for the past few hours catching up on some of the gowns that i missed and finding my faves.
when katie holmes sauntered out to give the best actor award, i was so excited. she looked amazing. i love the fabric and the amazing geometric cut of her jill stuart dress. so simple and so elegant, without being boring. she looked young and sassy.
kate winslet is just stunning and whatever she is doing, we all need to be doing. and her electric blue narciso rodriguez body hugging masterpiece fits her perfectly...the bottom confuses me a bit, but she looks so hot that i will let that slide. and those boobs. jealous! she totally should have won the big one. i can't wait to see what she will wear to the oscars.
my number one is jennifer morrison, she looks like a sparkly fairy hippie. the cut of the gown is flowy without being dumpy and i absolutely love that the dress is strapless. this is also an instance when a pale color in the right shade just makes her glow. it has such an ethereal quality and combined with her hair, makeup, and accessories she looks flawless. i love love love this gown. her stylist is a rock star. how do you think i would look as a blonde?
and last but not least...i love me some anne, but the only reason she made this list is her amazing hair and makeup. the gown is beautiful, but reminds me of gowns that have come before, j.lo and diane lane both come to mind, but her wavy loose curls and perfect makeup make this a complete success...i expect more at the oscars.
since everyone puts pictures of the children up on blogs, i thought it was time for hammond to have his time in the spotlight. for those who haven't seen the newly shorn hammy it is a bit depressing, but it is slowly growing back. he misses you all and would like for you to come visit him in sunny florida. guilt trip. who am i kidding? just swoon over my adorable puppy.
we are so rocknrolla. this is my favorite room in the house. that could be because it is the only room that's finished. the skulls were bo's idea and i thought up the rest. my favorite touch is the pottery barn halloween skull glasses as a vase and candleholder. am i a genius or what? since it's a rental, i am limited to what i can do as far as paint and construction. i would have loved to add white wainscoting to the bottom half of the wall and paint the top half a dark gray. i would have used a white stencil instead of a black and made some other little changes. c'est la vie. i am working on the rest of the place and i will keep you posted on the finished products.
i absolutely love emma roberts helmut lang jacket! the proportions are fantastic, not quite that of the 80's, but close enough to give off that relaxed rockstar thing. and no fear, in this february's instyle, gap's patrick robinson gave a sneak peak of the spring line which has a fantastic cotton jacket that gives off the same chill vibe, but at 78 bucks you can't beat it. it isn't online yet, but i am sure it will be soon. happy shopping.
i am totally digging these prints from good ole urban outfitters. they are both 20X30. i have no idea where i would they would go, but thought i would see how many people were repulsed by them before i make that purchase. i think that they are bold and playful, but perhaps i am just a big whore. so what do you think? do you absolutely loathe them or think they are just a bit of harmless naughty fun?
hammond wasn't impressed. after my fashion leap, i thought i would keep things simple for the folks in these here parts. but i have to say i am loving the new "boyfriend" jean. i acquired mine on accident ordering what i thought was my size at martin & osa.com. they were not. but i tried them on and while a bit baggy in the crotch, i was totally digging the looseness. i think the skinny ankle keeps the look from looking too disheveled. not to mention that my husband thinks they are the cutest things ever. go figure. but the best part is that i can eat. and eat. and then continue to eat while wearing them. and lets face it, that is awesome. all hail the boyfriend jean, truly a gift from the gods.
when i got dressed this morning i totally thought we were meeting people. a possible new friend for me. yay. in short, we didn't and instead we headed to the outlet mall in foley, al. our first stop banana to look for some staples, when i spotted billy corgan's comically giant twin brother look me up and down and proceed to laugh at me with his unfortunate looking female companion. bo said is was all in my head...yeah sure. the rest of the trip i continued to garner fantastical looks from all sorts of alabama's finest. i don't get what the big deal was. carrie bradshaw wears really tall socks. confusion. is it really that crazy? any who, hammond seems to dig it.
so, i am currently looking for artwork to put over our very empty west elm chunky console table in cinnabar. these prints make bo and i smile...so should i spend bo's hard earned money on these? help me out. i hate decisions.
everyone looked fantastic, albeit a little on the safe side. i was a fan of both amy adams in oscar de la renta and evan rachel wood in elie saab, but my favorite hands down was eva mendes in dior. the dress, the hair, and the jewelry came together flawlessly. she looked unbelievable, absolutely stunning. that bitch.
kate and anne. adorable. both of them have impeccable fashion sense, the photo to the right another fantastic example, kate in temperley london and anne in j. brand. but why god, oh why, did they have to make a movie together. bo and i decided we needed some laughter and both secretly wanted to see bride wars. (don't let him tell you otherwise) for the first time in a long time i wanted to leave the theatre. first off, it wasn't funny, not even a little bit and for the record, osiai are very laughy people. also, the story was ridiculous, even for a romantic comedy the plot was just juvenile and redundant. not to mention the joy that is wedding playing was no where to be found. where were all of the pretty dresses, the pretty flowers, and let's not forget all of the nightmarish bridesmaids dresses. i love both actress and find their previous work delightful, which is probably why i am so disappointed. so that is my review, not very insightful, i know, but trust me...it was awful. so overall, i say you are better off spending your dough on a barium enema. and if you aren't up for that i can highly recommend the curious case of benjamin button or gran torino.
so, i am excited to announce that there is a new addition to the osias household and trust me it is so much more exciting than a child. i purchased a fantastic foley+corinna mid city tote from a fantastic boutique in P-cola, Scout. the leather is like butter and it is the first normal colored bag i have purchased in a very long time. exciting.
this was tricia's idea, so if it bores you to sleep, blame her. my blog will mostly be about shoes, clothing, and home decor. shopping. the only thing i seem to be good at. see you around.
"What if you meet the love of your life, are u suppose to let them pass u by?" The line from the movie He's Just Not That Into You was said by Anna played by Scarlett Johansson to Ben played by Bradley Cooper.
I'll now throw the line to you guys.....
